A crash in the Salmon Creek area resulted in one apparent minor injury Thursday afternoon.

The incident was reported at 1:23 p.m. at 2619 N.E. 134th St., near an Umpqua Bank branch.

Clark County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chad Rothenberger said the driver drove into an embankment and light pole at a roundabout there forcefully enough that the airbags in his older-model Toyota Sienna minivan deployed.

Rothenberger said the man, identified as Brian Calloway, walked out of the vehicle, and witnesses he approached at a nearby fuel station said he talked about his life being in danger and people out to get him. His age and city of residence were unavailable.

He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. His status was not available.

Rothenberger said it wasn’t yet clear what caused the crash, and the investigation is ongoing.
