Vancouver — The AAA Vancouver store is collecting unused travel-size and full-size toiletries for local shelters as part of the travel agency’s annual Soap for Hope drive. Items such as shampoo, deodorant, body wash, combs, toothpaste and toothbrushes can be dropped off at 4301 E Fourth Plain Blvd.

The donations benefit Share, a nonprofit that serves homeless people.

“Many of us don’t have to think much about hygiene, it’s something we take care of every morning,” said AAA Vancouver store manager Amy Cole. “But if you have few resources, these toiletry items make a big difference. They can make you feel confident, especially as you head into a job interview, for example.”
