Hathaway families learn about local resources

Washougal — Nancy Boon, Washougal School District’s family resource coordinator, organized her first Resource Fair on Oct. 27 at Hathaway Elementary School. In a release from the district, Boon said resource organizations were happy to have representatives attend the fair and tell families about the services they provide. An estimated 90 percent of organizations she asked to participate took part. The fair focused primarily on organizations near Hathaway. The district is considering spreading the fair out to other schools next year. This year’s participating organizations included counseling, education and health groups, and a community center. The Girl Scouts also had booths.
