Camas — Camas High School’s DECA team raised $3,837 through its Muscular Dystrophy Association Golf Tournament on Oct. 25 at Camas Meadows Golf Course. DECA members enrolled 64 golfers, and organized sponsors and donations for raffle prizes. The tournament was part of the DECA Community Service Chapter Project, headed by Amanda Shi and Andrew Carson. Two other events are planned for the project: a Muscular Dystrophy Association Hop-a-Thon, which will raise awareness of the disease with elementary school students, and a Mr.-Mrs. Camas competition, in which Camas High School students will raise money for the nonprofit health agency dedicated to finding treatments and cures for neuromuscular diseases.
