Portland State junior forward/midfielder Aurora Bodenhamer was named Honorable Mention All-Big Sky Conference for women’s soccer this week.
The Hockinson High School graduate garnered her first career conference honor after leading the Vikings with five goals and 11 points as a junior, all recorded during conference play.
She was third in the Big Sky with her five goals in conference play, and tied for fifth with her 11 points in conference matches.
Bodenhamer recorded two braces during the season, as she scored both of the Vikings’ goals in a 2-1, overtime win over Southern Utah on Sept. 25, and scored the first two goals and recorded an assist in the Vikings’ 4-1 win over Idaho State on Oct. 9.
Bodenhamer’s five points against Idaho State were the most by a Viking in a single game since Eryn Brown (now Bacewich), a Camas High School graduate, recorded eight points on three goals and two assists in the Vikings’ 7-0 win over New Mexico State in 2013.
Bodenhamer scored the game-winner in the Vikings’ match against Southern Utah in the 93rd minute, as she converted a penalty kick early on in overtime to seal the win.
