Camas — The American Diabetes Association of Oregon and Southwest Washington honored WaferTech with its first Health Champion designation, a new effort by the organization to recognize companies that encourage well-being and take part in the association’s Wellness Lives Here program. WaferTech earned the designation for having cafeteria meal options with 600 calories or less; three vegetarian options at lunch and dinner; a Weight Watchers program on site; walking and jogging routes around its campus; walking and jogging groups; a gym for its employees; a smoke-free work environment; a wellness committee, and an annual health and wellness fair. The designation affords signage for WaferTech to display, a logo to use on its website and for recruitment advertising, an advertisement in Diabetes Forecast magazine, and recognition on the American Diabetes Association website and social media channels.
