Week 8 fall sports prep athlete of the week nominees

Weekly vote, sponsors by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 31.

Athletes may win the honor once in during the regular season and cannot be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

CHANSE GILBERT, SKYVIEW BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Gilbert won the 4A bi-district championship, helping Skyview place fifth.

PAGE HELLER, COLUMBIA RIVER VOLLEYBALL: Heller had 32 assists, 10 aces, 10 digs and 8 kills as River won two league matches.

EMMA JENKINS, CAMAS GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Jenkins won the 4A bi-district championship, leading Camas to a team win.

ANDREW KABACY, SKYVIEW TENNIS: Kabacy won the 4A district singles title, then won a bi-district playoff to advance to state.

RYLEE SEEKINS, HOCKINSON SOCCER: Seekins had three goals and an assist in a playoff win and an assist in league win over Ridgefield.
