Save the Date: Get in the swim at Marshall Family Fun Day

Jump into the community pool during Marshall Family Fun Day. From noon to 5 today, the community center celebrates 50 years with a day of free activities, from fitness demonstrations to pottery making. Public swims begin at 11 a.m., though space is limited. The Pearson Field Education Center will open its airplanes to visitors from 9 a.m. to 3 today, offering views from the pilot seat during Open Cockpit Day. There will also be historic aircraft and vintage British cars on display, and aviation activities like the flight simulator lab, whirligig test and glider building at the Pearson Field Education Center, 210A East Reserve St., Vancouver. Community celebrations continue next week, as Fire District 6 hosts its annual Station Open House from noon to 4 p.m. June 6. The fourth annual Clark College Big Band Bash will bring back the eras of jazz and swing at 7 p.m. June 6. The Craft Winefest of Vancouver will celebrate wineries of Clark County and Washington state June 12-14.
