Union, Camas lacrosse eliminated in state quarterfinals

The high school lacrosse season ended on Saturday for the Union and Camas teams. Both lost in the state quarterfinal playoff round for Division II level teams.

Sumner topped visiting Union 15-6 and Juanita of Kirkland topped host Camas 12-6.

For Union, Trey Chambers scored three goals and collected seven ground balls. Chandler Lindhorst, Nathan Lindquist, and Jarad McKinney each added a goal. Goalie Dominic Mendez made 16 saves. Union finished with 12 wins and five losses.

For Camas, Matt Welinski scored two goals and Austin Garwood, Ayden Garwood, Harrison Martin and Julian Svaricek each scored once. Svaricek won 15 faceoffs and collected six ground balls. Matt Thomas collected four ground balls. Goalie Jake Lambert made 15 saves. Welinski and Brennan Dyehouse each had an assist. Camas finished 11-6.

All-conference honors

The Columbia River boys lacrosse team had five of the 12 member of the all-conference first team for the Central-South Conference of Division II of the Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association.

The Columbia River team, formerly King’s Way Lacrosse, included players from several area high schools. Earning all-conference as voted by coaches were King’s Way Christian senior Mike Johnson and sophomore Isaiah Pratt, both at the attack position. Hockinson senior midfielder Brian Prigmore also represented the Columbia River club on the all-conference team. Columbia River senior Brandon Pearl was an all-conference defender and Columbia River senior Conrad Littlefield was the all-conference goalie.

Union had three members of the all-conference first team: sophomore attack Parker Lindhorst, senior midfielder Trey Chambers and sophomore defender Jesse Moses.

Camas had two players selected to the all-conference first team: senior midfielder Austin Garwood and senior defender Kannon Burchette.

Chambers, Garwood, Prigmore, Pearl and Littlefield are repeat members of the all-conference team.
