The Clark County Running Club series of summer 5-kilometer races begins this Wednesday with a race at David Douglas Park.
The race begins at 7 p.m. and participants should arrive by 6:30 p.m. to register and warm up. This race course follows paths in David Douglas Park and some neighboring streets.
David Douglas Park is at 1016 N. Garrison Rd., just north of Mill Plain. Enter the park north of the baseball fields and go to the west parking lot.

Mountain bikes to race at Washougal
A mountain bike race for ages 10 and older will take place on June 14 at the Washougal MX Park.
The Race for the Future is expected to draw mountain bike racers from around the Northwest. The event is a fundraiser to support high school mountain bike racing programs.
There will be races for all ability levels, including beginners. The course will cover much of the Washougal MX Park property, including part of the track that is used for the annual Washougal MX motocross races.
The event is sanctioned by the Oregon Bicycle Racing Association.
Money raised will go to support the National Interscholastic Cycling Association and the Lacamas Freedom Riders, the only high school mountain bike team in Southwest Washington.

July rugby camp planned
Rugby Oregon has scheduled a camp July 6-9 at Laurin Middle School for boys and girls entering grades 3-8.
Directing the camp will be USA national team player Troy Hall and Stewart Magorian, who plays professional rugby. Cost of the four-day camp is $125. No rugby experience is necessary to participate.

Marshall Center anniversary
In honor of Marshall Community Center’s 50th anniversary, a variety of free family activities will take place from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Sports will include swimming, fitness classes and a variety of sports in the gymnasium. Each of three swim sessions will be limited to 160 people.
