Clark County investigators have partnered with Crime Stoppers to offer a $1,000 reward in the homicide of a transient woman.

A boater found the body of Jessica Newton, 40, washed up on the western shoreline of Bachelor Island near Ridgefield on Jan. 2, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Newton died of homicidal violence, according to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Investigators said that Newton may have died sometime during the later weeks of December, but investigators have little information about Newton’s whereabouts or acquaintances in mid to late December 2014, the sheriff’s office said. Investigators said that Newton frequented homeless services in east and downtown Portland.

Detectives are asking for any information, including tips attained through social media sites including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
