Photograph Nature in Your Garden: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 4 at Pacific Community Park Natural Gardens at Northeast 18th Street and 172nd Avenue, Vancouver. Participants will use their smart phones to take nature photos and receive instruction in basic photography design and composition —including cropping, lighting, point-of-view, and depth of field — by Clark County Master Gardeners and Clark County Environmental Services. The free smartphone photo app, Snapseed, will be used and should be downloaded before the workshop, using iTunes or Google Play. Following the workshop, participants are asked to provide 45 minutes of service in the demo gardens; they should dress for the weather and bring garden gloves. Tools provided. Free. 127th Annual Portland Rose Society Spring Show: 1 to 9 p.m. June 4; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 5 at Lloyd Center, 2201 Lloyd Center, Portland. The show features the largest display of roses in the U.S. and is open to the public. All rose growers are encouraged to enter roses between 6:30 and 9:30 a.m. June 4. Vases and supplies provided.
