Filing week is halfway through, and Wednesday saw a slower day of candidate filings for the 2015 elections.

One new name on the list is Linda Glover, who announced her candidacy for Vancouver City Council Position 5. The seat is currently occupied by Councilor Larry Smith, who previously said he will not run for re-election.

Glover, a 66-year-old business owner and nonprofit director, will compete for the seat against Ty Stober, who announced his candidacy in March.

Another Wednesday filing was Chuck Green, a Democrat who had previously announced his intention to seek the new District 2 seat on the Clark County council.

Here are the other fresh candidate filings, as of late Wednesday afternoon:

Ridgefield City Council: Position 3,
Lee E. Wells. Position 7, Sandra Day.

Washougal City Council: Position 4, Jason Dodge. Position 5, Jennifer McDaniel.

Woodland City Council: Position 7, Mike Benjamin.

Cemetery District No. 5 Commissioner, Position 3: Dick Colf.

La Center School District school director, District 1:
Cris Yaw.

Woodland Pool and Recreation District commissioner, Position 3:
Michael Green.

Potential candidates in Clark County can file at clark.wa.gov/elections through 4 p.m. Friday or in person until 5 p.m. Friday at the elections office at 1408 Franklin St. in Vancouver.

There are also seats available on the Woodland City Council, the Woodland Swimming Pool and Recreation District and the Woodland School District board. Candidates for those offices can file with the Cowlitz County Auditor’s Office in person at 207 N. Fourth Ave. in Kelso or at vote.wa.gov/Cowlitz.

This year’s primary will be Aug. 4. The top two candidates from that primary, regardless of party, will move on to the Nov. 3 general election.
