East Vancouver — Evergreen High School senior Hannah Jeung earned an Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction judge’s choice award for her oil painting titled “Aphrodite.”

Jeung’s piece was selected for the Annual State Superintendent of Public Instruction Art Show in Olympia after she was honored at the Southwest Washington Regional High School Art Show, sponsored and hosted by Educational Service District 112.

Her painting was one of 18 works out of 243 submissions to win a regional award and compete at the state level. It was also one of five works honored with a judge’s award at the state superintendent’s show.

Along with the award, Jeung won a $200 honorarium and her painting will be displayed as part of the permanent student collection at these state agencies.
