Save the Date: Much to do onstage, out and about

Love Street Playhouse explores aging and family relationships in “On Golden Pond.” Aging couple Ethel and Norman Thayer spend each summer at their home on the lake. When their adult daughter, her uptight fiancé and rebellious teenage son visit, the turbulent relationship between parents and child come to light. The production has shows at 7:30 tonight and 2 p.m. Sunday, along with performances at 7:30 p.m. May 14-16 and 2 p.m. May 17 at Love Street Playhouse, 126 Love St., Woodland. Vancouver Parks and Recreation’s 50 and Better Program presents the Senior Prom, an evening of dancing and dining. The Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge is offering Naturalist Led Hikes on select Saturdays and Sundays through June. Starting at 8 a.m., participants can take a birding hike on the Oaks to Wetland Trail or Kiwa Trail, starting from the trailhead for a three-hour hike highlighting the wildlife and plants of the refuge. Two big community events take place next weekend. Head to the “Wild, Wild West” with this year’s Hazel Dell Parade of Bands. With retired Clark County Sheriff Garry Lucas as the grand marshal, the 51st annual parade will kick off at 10:30 a.m. May 16. Middle and high school marching bands from near and far will walk along Highway 99, along with floats, organizations and clubs participating. The Lions Club will host its pancake breakfast before the parade, from 7 to 10 a.m. at Fire District 6, Station 61, 8800 N.E. Hazel Dell Ave., Vancouver. www.facebook.com/HazelDellParade

The annual Dozer Day puts children of all ages in charge of heavy construction equipment in a dirt pile. Participants can drive dozers, excavators and dump trucks with a professional operator, with proceeds benefiting children’s charities. The event runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 16 and 17 at the Clark County Fairgrounds, 17402 N.E. Delfel Road, Ridgefield. The first of the 2015 season’s Amphitheater Northwest concerts begin May 22 with singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey as part of her Endless Summer Tour, joined by Courtney Love. With an expansive vocal range, Del Rey draws influences from the 1950s and 1960s Americana for much of her work. She’s currently working on a new album, “Honeymoon,” that will be released later this year. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. May 22 at Amphitheater Northwest, 17200 N.E. Delfel Road.
