Vancouver police identified the pedestrian critically injured in a crash Thursday near Hudson’s Bay High School.

Around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Michelle N. Kopf, 31, was crossing East Mill Plain Boulevard mid-block near W Street when she was hit by a vehicle that was unable to stop, Vancouver police said. The driver of the vehicle, identified Friday as Amber L. Goldsmith, 24, remained on scene.

Kopf remains hospitalized, police said.

Detectives don’t believe speed or impairment were factors in the crash. The Vancouver Police Department’s traffic unit continues investigating what happened.
