Day-use at Washington state parks will be free on Sunday, plus June 6 and June 13.
Visitors will not need a Discover Pass for those three days. The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission was allowed to designate up to 12 “free days” each year when the Discover Pass legislation was adopted.
Sunday was picked as a spring day, June 6 in recognition of National Trails Day and June 13 is National Get Outdoors Day.
The other free days in 2015 will be Aug. 25 in commemoration of the National Park Service’ birthday, Sept. 26, which is National Public Lands Day and Nov. 11, Veterans Day.
The Discover Pass costs $10 for a one-day permit or $30 for 12 months.
