A suspected intoxicated driver allegedly caused a crash on Interstate 5 that injured himself and two other people early Thursday morning, according to Washington State Patrol.

Brandon Nuorala, 22, of Ridgefield was driving a 2013 Volkswagen CC north on I-5 at a high rate of speed at about 12:20 a.m. Thursday, according to WSP. About 1 mile north of Vancouver, the Volkswagen struck a northbound 1995 Ford Taurus, WSP said.

The driver of the Taurus, Kirby De LaGrange, 35, and passenger Shalayne Hornstein, 32, both of Kelso, were injured and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

Nuorala also was injured and taken to PeaceHealth. All three were treated and released.

Troopers continue to investigate the crash. Nuorala could face charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving, WSP said.
