A 25-year-old Vancouver woman appeared in Clark County Superior Court on Monday in connection with a hit-and-run crash that injured two motorcyclists early Saturday morning.

Holli Denae Trembly is accused of hitting the Vancouver men about 1:25 a.m. at the intersection of Northeast 63rd Street and Northeast Meadows Drive and fleeing the scene. She allegedly was traveling west in a Volkswagen Passat station wagon and struck the two westbound motorcycles as they slowed to turn onto Northeast Meadows Drive, according to a bulletin from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The two motorcyclists, Kevin L. Nicholson Jr., 28, and Michael Castaneda, 26, suffered fractured right ankles and were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Superior Court. They have both since been released.

According to the affidavit, the Volkswagen fled the scene and was located in the 7000 block of Northeast 83rd Avenue in Vancouver. Police contacted a woman and a 17-year-old girl and detained them.

During an interview, the teen said Trembly was the driver of the Volkswagen and crashed into the motorcycles. She said she was sitting in the rear passenger’s seat at the time of the crash and that Trembly sped away from the scene. When Trembly parked the car, the two fled on foot, along with a male passenger. The girl said she believed Trembly was driving under the influence because of her slurred speech, court records said.

Trembly said she had consumed both beer and Vodka about three to four hours prior, according to court documents.

Trembly agreed to take a preliminary breath test, which measured her blood-alcohol concentration at 0.116 percent. The state’s legal limit to drive is a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.08 percent or less.

She also had five warrants out for her arrest.

On Monday, Judge Derek Vanderwood appointed attorney Heather Carroll to represent Trembly.

Trembly is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail. She is scheduled to be arraigned May 15.
