Week 6 spring sports athlete of the week nominees

Nominees for high school spring athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending May 2. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian

TAYLOR EASTERLY, COLUMBIA RIVER BASEBALL: Easterly threw a five-inning no-hitter and drove home two runs in a win over Fort Vancouver.

ABBY ENGLAND, LA CENTER SOFTBALL: England gave up 2 earned runs in 21 innings, and went 7 for 11 with a HR and 5 RBI.

EMMA JENKINS, CAMAS GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: The freshman won the 1,500 meters at the Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays in 4:42.66.

LEXINGTON REESE, MOUNTAIN VIEW BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Ranked third in the state at 4A, Reese won the javelin at the Tomahawk Classic with a throw of 178-9.

REILLY WHITLOCK, UNION GIRLS GOLF: Whitlock shot a 2-under-par 34 at Camas Meadows to lead Union past Camas.
