Clark County’s newest public market launched over the weekend outside Westfield Vancouver mall, as dozens of vendors offered fresh food and creative craft items in an open-air venue.
The Market at Vancouver Mall, as it is called, featured produce from local farms, fresh food for those looking for a quick snack or meal and a variety of goods produced by local artisans. Entertainers enlivened the atmosphere.
Portland-Vancouver Events organized the market. Some 46 vendors are already signed up to participate at least some of the time, “with more applying each day,” said Dawn Hartwell of the company, also known as PVEvents.
The Market at Vancouver Mall is sponsored by 123 Launch Me, Farmers Insurance/District 6 and McCord’s Vancouver RV Center. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Sept. 27 in the parking lot area south of Macy’s at the mall, 8700 N.E. Vancouver Mall Drive.
