Another DH split for Clark, Chemeketa

Dylan Knoth went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBI as the Clark College baseball team pounded out 10 hits in a 7-1 win over Chemeketa in the first game of an NWAC South Region doubleheader Saturday at Kindsfather Field.

Chemeketa earned the split, winning the second game 4-2 thanks to a three-run seventh inning.

Tim Reynolds (2-0) earned the win in the first game for the Penguins, giving up no runs on three hits with eight strikeouts in seven innings. He lowered his ERA to 1.57. (Click here for complete game 1 boxscore)

Clark (18-22, 7-13) led the second game 2-1 going into the seventh where Chemeketa (18-20, 6-14) scored three runs on four hits to pick up the split for the second day in a row. (Click here for complete game 2 boxscore)

Clark closes out the regular season with four games against Clackamas. Friday’s doubleheader is on the road with Saturday’s at Kindsfather Field starting at 1 p.m.

SOFTBALL — The Penguins were swept in a doubleheader at Clackamas on Saturday, losing 4-0 and 9-0.

Clark (14-22, 4-12) was held to two hits in the first game, and one in the second against the No. 2-ranked team in the NWAC.

Clark is next scheduled to host Mt. Hood in a doubleheader on Tuesday starting at 3 p.m. The Penguins close out their season on Friday at Southwestern Oregon in Coos Bay.
