The honors keep rolling in for Micah Paulson.

  • Class 4A Greater St. Helens League MVP.
  • Columbian All-Region player of the year.
  • Class 4A all-state tournament team.
  • Roundball Classic player of the game.

Well, add one more on Tuesday: the Associated Press Class 4A all-state first team.

The Union senior was voted onto the first team by a panel of media members. He was the only Clark County basketball player to earn first-team honors.

Paulson led the Titans to a 24-2 season, the 4A GSHL league title and a third-place finish at the state tournament.

Other local players who earned all-state honorable mention were Robert Franks of Evergreen (4A boys), Kienan Walter of King’s Way Christian (1A boys), Cherita Daugherty of Prairie (3A girls) and Katie Whitten of La Center (1A girls).

Gonzaga Prep guard Laura Stockton and Rainier Beach standout Dejounte Murray have been named the 2015 Associated Press Washington state high school basketball players of the year.

Stockton, the daughter of Hall of Fame point guard John Stockton, led Gonzaga Prep to its second straight Class 4A state championship to cap her high school career. Stockton averaged 17.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists and will play collegiately at Gonzaga.

Murray is taking his game to Washington after helping the Vikings finish second in the Class 3A state tournament. Murray averaged 24.2 points and 13.6 rebounds for the Vikings, including scoring a school record 52 early in the season.

The Associated Press contributed to his report.
