Battle Ground — At the March 16 Battle Ground City Council meeting, two city employees were honored for their work last year.

Court supervisor Carol Landwehr was named 2014 Employee of the Year by Battle Ground City Manager John Williams. Landwehr, who was nominated for the award by her peers, started in Battle Ground as lead court clerk in 2003, and was promoted to supervisor in 2012.

Battle Ground Police Detective Philip Anderson was also honored at the meeting, accepting his award as last year’s Officer of the Year from Battle Ground Police Chief Bob Richardson. Anderson joined the department in 2006, and before working as a detective, served as a patrol officer, school resource officer and bicycle patrol officer.
