Detectives have released a description of the suspect in a Saturday morning shooting in central Vancouver that left a man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

The Vancouver Police Department said the suspect is a white male in his mid-20s who has a short stature, a slim build and a shaved head. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a faded-red, late-model Datsun or Nissan truck with Washington license plates and white trim across the base of the truck’s body, police said.

Police were called to Creekside Manor apartments, 2601 Rossiter Lane, at about 6 a.m. Saturday to investigate a shooting, according to Vancouver police.

Arriving officers found a man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. The man had been shot while he was in a vehicle but was standing outside of it when police arrived, Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said. Officers treated the man before he was taken to an area hospital.

The victim, whose name has not been released, is expected to survive his injuries, Kapp said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Vancouver police Detective Lawrence Zapata at 360- 487-7420 or lawrence.zapata@cityofvancouver.us.
