Camas — Daniela Garcia, a student at Hayes Freedom High School in Camas and an intern with the National Women’s Coalition Against Violence & Exploitation — that’s a homegrown Vancouver nonprofit agency — organized and led a Human Trafficking Awareness assembly at her school on March 6. Speakers included NWCAVE’s president Michelle Bart and Lindsay Holmes of Shared Hope International, a sister agency. There was a film screening and an open dialog with students, after which the entire assembly wrote papers about what they’d say “No More” to — issues such as rape, assault, bullying and sex trafficking. Learn more about the No More Campaign at nomore.org and more about NWCAVE at nwcave.org.
