• Juvenile Justice and Rehabilitation Administration Region 3 seeks volunteers to mentor youth in the juvenile justice system. Mentors visit youth in facilities, talk to them by phone and write letters as often as possible. Mentor program internships are also available to educate the community about the program and its needs, create fliers, recruit volunteers, and pursue grants and donation opportunities.
• REACH/ACE seeks volunteers to coordinate crafts for adults, teach American Sign Language, clean, do manicures, teach quilting and sewing, perform canine citizen training and facilitate youth programs.
• Silver Buckle Ranch is looking for barn and ranch volunteers, office workers and program assistants to assist youth with classroom activities, horse care, camps, lessons and parties.
• VA Medical Center is looking for activity assistants, shuttle bus drivers and people to visit patients.
• Vancouver Housing Authority seeks volunteers who are proficient in Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese to help publish newsletters for clients.
Clark County councilors seek to fill a position on the three-member board that oversees Drainage Improvement District No. 5. The district, mainly south and west of Hockinson, is roughly between Northeast 132nd Avenue and Northeast 182nd Avenue, and between Northeast 99th Street and Northeast 159th Street. Board members are appointed for staggered six-year terms. They must own property within the drainage improvement district and be registered to vote in Washington.

Clark County councilors seek to fill a position on the volunteer Animal Protection and Control Advisory Board. The two-year position begins June 1 and is for an at-large member who lives anywhere in Clark County. Board members meet quarterly at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month.
