With forecasts showing highs in the upper 80s and 90s all week, Battle Ground officials are encouraging locals to cool off at the Battle Ground Community Center.
The community center, located at 912 E. Main St., is one of several public buildings throughout Clark County operating as a cooling center as Southwest Washington continues to experience unusually hot temperatures. The space will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Thursday.
Visitors are welcome to bring picnic meals, reading materials, board games and any other activities for children. The place also has Wi-Fi.
