Don’t let any clouds you see in the sky fool you. It will be hot. A weak weather system moved through yesterday and even brought a few raindrops to thirsty surfaces. It moved quickly, though, and abundant sunshine graced the skies in the afternoon, with highs once again in the 80s.
Hot and dry high pressure was already on the move Wednesday toward Clark County and will encompass the entire Northwest by Friday. Highs bounce to the mid- to upper 90s and near 100 Saturday.
More clouds at times with risk of thunder and lightning through the weekend. The clouds may be thick enough Sunday to keep us out of the 90s but we’ll just have to wait and see. Most of next week will be hot, with highs of 90 to 95 degrees with an extended period of warm/hot weather with possible scattered thunderstorms. The overnight periods will be quite warm, especially with cloudiness.
Although we escaped any measurable rainfall from Wednesday’s weak front, at 3 p.m. Wednesday several locations were actually reporting light rain: The Dalles, Ore., Everett and Oak Harbor. It was a cool rain at Everett with 65 degrees, but a warm one at The Dalles with 84 degrees.
