The second victim in a fatal crash Wednesday on state Highway 14 was identified by authorities as Portland resident Justin Clayton.

Clayton, 25, was a passenger in a 2015 Kia Soul involved in a head-on crash Wednesday just east of Washougal, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Traffic ahead of a westbound 2002 Toyota Tacoma pickup was stopped behind a hay truck that was waiting to turn left near Milepost 19. The Toyota crossed the center line and struck the Kia Soul head-on in the eastbound lanes, said State Patrol Lt. Jason Linn.

Two passengers in the Kia, Clayton and Anna Wichman, 29, of Portland, died at the scene.

The driver of the Kia, Jesikah Clausen, 25, of Portland, and a third passenger in the vehicle, Sean Knudeson, 32, of Portland, were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Knudeson and Clausen were both listed in serious condition.

The pickup driver, 91-year-old Robert Snider of Vancouver, also was taken to the hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

It doesn’t appear drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, and everyone was wearing a seat belt, according to the State Patrol. No arrests or citations have been issued, but troopers continue to investigate.

Both lanes of the two-lane highway were closed for the crash, near the Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge, with traffic detoured until about 2:45 p.m.
