Maintenance work will cause occasional lifts on both sides of the Interstate 5 Bridge on Friday night, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Crews will complete the annual greasing of the cables that help operate the counterweights on the structure.
The work will begin at 10:30 p.m. Friday and wrap up by 8 a.m. Saturday, according to ODOT.
Each lift of the northbound or southbound spans should last no more than 20 minutes, according to ODOT, and will also close the sidewalk for bicycles and pedestrians. Travelers should expect delays, or use Interstate 205 to travel between Vancouver and Portland.
