Clark County — The Vancouver-based Northwest Association for Blind Athletes had two dragon boat teams of visually impaired athletes place at the Portland Rose Festival Races in early June, as Lethally Blind medaled in Division C and WASABI VIP placed in Division B. “Opportunities like these are essential to building confidence, self-esteem and physical fitness, all of which improve quality of life for individuals who are blind or visually impaired in our community,” Billy Henry, association founder and executive director, said in a release.
