Four people appeared in Clark County Superior Court on Friday morning after Thursday’s raid at a suspected Vancouver drug house.
• Joshua P. Burson, 40, of Vancouver, who reportedly owns the residence, faces allegations of maintaining a drug house and two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
• Benjamin G. Bray, 31, of Vancouver, faces allegations of altering marks on a pistol, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and being an ex-convict in possession of a firearm. Clark County Deputy Prosecutor Randy St. Clair said Bray may face substantial prison time.
• Katherine S. Kangas, 27, of Battle Ground, appeared on suspicion of two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
• Steven T. Johnson, 32, of Vancouver, faces allegations of possession of a controlled substance.
On Thursday, police served a search warrant at 4713 N.E. 139th Ave., in the Burnt Bridge Creek neighborhood. The search followed a two-month investigation.
Police reportedly seized about a pound of crystal methamphetamine, three ounces of heroin, a 9 mm handgun, cash and drug paraphernalia.
Seven people were at the residence, but only five were arrested. The fifth suspect, James R. Montoya, 39, was not in court on Friday. He was arrested on suspicion of two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and maintaining a drug house, as well as charges from previous cases.
During their hearings on Friday, each co-defendant had bail set and was either appointed an attorney or said they would hire their own. St. Clair said all have criminal histories.
All are scheduled to be arraigned June 26.
