Washougal — The Camas Washougal Rotary Club recently concluded its Young Men In Action program, where fifth-graders from Hathaway Elementary School had the opportunity to interact with peers who are not in their circle of friends and focus on development of life skills, including friendship, health, hygiene, careers and manners. The program ran seven weeks, with the students and their mentors meeting for two hours each week and focusing on a different topic. They went on field trips to Hearth Restaurant and the Camas-Washougal Fire Department, and received in-class instruction on mature behavior. The girls’ program, Young Women In Action, wrapped up in March.
