Battle Ground Public Schools makes administrative changes

Battle Ground Public Schools leaders have announced the following administrative changes for the 2015-2016 school year:

• High schools:

Battle Ground High School: Tim Lexow, current Battle Ground High School principal, is resigning after 20 years of working in the district. Mike Hamilton, currently principal at Kalama Middle/High School, will be the new principal. Lee Bradford, assistant principal, is retiring with 38 years of service. Scott Yingling will be the new assistant principal. He currently is dean of students at South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard.

CAM Academy: Colleen O’Neal, principal, is retiring after 28 years in the district. She will be succeeded by Ryan Cowl, currently assistant principal of Tukes Valley Middle School.

• Middle schools:

Tukes Valley Middle School: Erin Thompson will be associate principal. She currently is a teacher at Columbia River High School in Vancouver Public Schools.

• Primary schools:

Glenwood Heights Primary: Damen Hermens, currently a teacher and administrative intern at Evergreen Public Schools’ Covington Middle School, will be associate principal. Sue Fine, assistant principal, is resigning.

• District office:

Sandy Mathewson will be the director of social-emotional learning, a new role dedicated to supporting mental health, prevention and intervention, and special services. Mathewson has been director of Prevention and Youth Services at Educational Service District 112 since 1993.
