Legacy Health employees collect 40,000 pounds of food for food banks

Central Vancouver — Legacy Health employees hosted their first systemwide food drive the last two weeks of May, collecting more 40,000 pounds of food.

Legacy Health’s more than 10,000 employees collected 9,319 pounds of food and $6,766 in monetary donations, or the equivalent of 43,146 pounds of food in total, according to a release from Legacy.

The donations are going to 11 different food banks in the Portland metropolitan and Southwest Washington areas. The Clark County Food Bank is the only Washington location that will be on the receiving end of the drive, receiving 1,622 pounds of food, the second most of any organization in the drive, and $1,926, the highest total of all 11 food banks.
