Ridgefield — Ridgefield School District’s Beautification Day at Ridgefield Middle School brought students, parents, teachers, administrators and community members to the school on May 30 for a day of yard work.

The volunteers worked on a variety of projects, such as construction of new block flower beds to frame the stairs leading to the old Ridgefield High School, digging trenches for irrigation piping, preparing and painting classroom doors, weeding and planting, spreading bark nuggets and placing hemp fabric to keep ground cover growing.
