Humane Society’s walk/run fundraiser brings in most money in event’s history

Esther Short — This year’s Humane Society for Southwest Washington’s Walk/Run for the Animals collected the most money in the event’s 24-year history, raising more than $150,000.

The funds will go to medical needs, food and enrichment, as well as adoption services for animals at the shelter.

Three teams raised more than $10,000 each.
