The Clark County Elections office will host political party observer training Thursday.
Political parties assign certified citizens to witness various components of the elections processes, according to a county news release. The observers ensure ballots are counted correctly.
Training runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Elections Conference Room at 1408 Franklin St. in downtown Vancouver. The training provides an overview of ballot processing, including the inspection process and ballot-counting equipment.
The general public may attend even if they are not official observers. No one can be an observer unless they’ve received the training.
