Week 10 spring sports high school athlete of the week nominees

Nominees for high school spring athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending May 30. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian.

BRIDGET GUINEY, PRAIRIE SOFTBALL: Guiney went 7 for 15 with three doubles, a home run and 5 RBIs as the Falcons placed 4th at 3A state.

SAMMI HAMPTON, SKYVIEW TENNIS: Hampton completed an undefeated prep career by winning her fourth 4A state singles title.

BRIAN HUMPHREYS, CAMAS BOYS GOLF: Humphreys placed fourth at 4A state, calling a penalty on himself that cost him a state title.

DAI’LYN MERRIWEATHER, UNION TRACK AND FIELD: Merriweather won the 200-meter state title at 4A and helped Union place in the top-3 in 3 relays.

FAITH UDY, WOODLAND GIRLS GOLF: Udy placed second in the Class 2A state tournament with a 36-hole total of 158.
