An electrical storm moved through the metro area early today as a warm weekend gives way to a cool Monday morning.

Many local residents who slept with the windows open were awakened by the sounds of thunder as the storm moved through after midnight.

By 6:30 a.m. weather radar showed no active cells in Clark County, but the National Weather Service reports a chance of thundershowers will remain throughout the morning. Individual storm cells could contain heavy rain or hail.

There were no immediate reports of storm damage in Clark County, but KATU-TV showed photos of a tree that fell on a car in Lake Oswego, Ore.

Today’s high temperature is predicted to be only 65 degrees, after Sunday’s high reached 83. A few light showers could occur outside the storm cells.

The cooler, showery weather is predicted to last through at least Wednesday.
