Vancouver’s role in the history of Northwest cheese-making will be part of August’s “First Thursday” presentation at the Clark County Historical Museum.

The session will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at the museum, 1511 Main St.

Tami Parr, author of “Pacific Northwest Cheese: A History,” will explore the history of local cheese-making from fur-trading years and industrial production to artisan renaissance.

Copies of her book will be available to purchase at event. It also will be a chance to see the museum’s exhibit “Food for Thought: Clark County’s Food History.” It features artifacts, documents and images that illustrate the shifting landscape of food in this region.

Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors, $2 for children under 18, and free with a museum membership. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the lecture will start at 7 p.m.
