Vancouver — Two separate construction projects will prompt temporary road closures starting next week, according to Clark County Public Works.
A short section of Northwest 41st Avenue just south of Northwest 179th Street will close while crews stabilize the embankment along the road’s east side. Drivers can use alternate routes such as Northwest 169th Street, Northwest 51st Avenue and Northwest 179th Street to get around the closure, which could start as early as Monday. The project is expected to be completed by the end of September, according to the county.
Crews will also close a section of Northeast 88th Street, about a mile east of Northeast Ward Road, to replace the Fifth Plain Creek Bridge.
The span is the last wood-support bridge owned by the county, and the only county-owned bridge considered “structurally deficient.” Alternate routes available during the work include Northeast Fourth Plain Road to the south.
The bridge site could close early next week, and the project is expected to wrap up in December, according to the county.
