A Vancouver fisherman whose body was found earlier this week at Lacamas Lake in Camas died of accidental drowning, according to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office.

David J. Gleghorn, 68, left to go fishing on the morning of July 22, but family members grew concerned around dusk that day when Gleghorn hadn’t returned home and reported him missing to Camas police.

Police found Gleghorn’s vehicle parked near the public boat launch on Northwest Leadbetter Road and said there was evidence that his inflatable boat entered the water from that point. The Portland police air unit scoured the area Thursday and found the boat in an inlet at the south end of the lake, but there was no sign of Gleghorn.

On Monday, a relative of Gleghorn discovered his body and called 911, Camas police Officer Debrah Riedl said.
