Six cars were damaged after a tractor-trailer lost a piece of equipment on southbound Interstate 5 on Monday morning.
The rig was traveling south when it lost the piece of equipment, described as a drive line, just south of the 179th Street Exit, Trooper Dave Bourland said.
Six vehicles hit or ran over the drive line, causing damage ranging from completely disabling the vehicle to flat tires noticed later, Bourland said. The incidents were reported just before 6 a.m.
All the vehicles made it to the shoulder without crashing. No one was injured.
