The Health Systems Quality Assurance Division of the state Department of Health recently took disciplinary actions or has withdrawn charges against these Clark County health care providers.

In April, the Dental Commission charged dentist Avery Elmer Harrison with unprofessional conduct. He allegedly contracted to practice dentistry for a company that didn’t have a Washington license, enabling the company’s unlicensed practice of dentistry.

In April, the Nursing Assistant Program charged certified nursing assistant Regina Ieisha Hurts with unprofessional conduct. Charges say Hurts admitted taking jewelry that belonged to a 90-year-old resident at an assisted-living facility where she worked. Hurts pleaded guilty to third-degree theft.

In April, the Nursing Commission reinstated the registered nurse credential of Leona M. Smith. Her license was suspended in 2013 after her Oregon license was revoked because she photographed and passed on a photo of a patient’s bare buttocks without the patient’s knowledge or consent.
