A Vancouver man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash south of Hockinson early Friday morning.

Derek Ward, 26, was driving south on Northeast 152nd Avenue in the 10900 block, where he drove off the road and rolled the vehicle in a field, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. The crash was reported just after 2 a.m.

Ward was ejected and pinned underneath the vehicle, and he was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center by Life Flight. His condition at the hospital was not immediately available.

Investigators said speed appeared to be a factor in the crash and that it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.

The agency’s traffic unit is continuing the investigation into the crash.
