Mount Hood Meadows will expand its summer schedule this year, offering chairlift rides and concerts on Saturdays and Sundays in August.

Stadium chairlift is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The price of a ticket will be $10.

Meadows launched the summer chairlift operation for two days in August a year ago and determined the potential exists to market rides, said Jake Bolland, chief operating officer.

Chairlift riders can return via the lift or hike along designated trails to the base area.

Meadows Sun Deck BBQ will serve kielbasa sausages, hotdogs, tofu sausages, wine, beer and other refreshments.

A series of other events including a hiking photography workshop on Aug. 8 and uphill running or walk race on Aug. 22 are scheduled, along with a singer-songwriter series on Sundays in August.
