Sixth annual Lavender Festival: Noon to 6 p.m. July 25, with a concert from 6 to 9 p.m., at Heisen House Vineyards, 28005 N.E. 172nd Ave., Battle Ground. Lavender craft demonstrations, tips on cooking with lavender, entertainment, games, food and local products for sale. Live music on the hour every hour. Free. Suggested donations of $5 per adult and $3 for ages 5 to 18 will support restoration work on the historic barn. Information: heisenhousevineyards.com

Natural Garden Tour: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 26, at 10 gardens in Clark County. On the self-guided tour, learn about using native plants, conserving water with rain barrels, attracting beneficial insects and designing alternatives to traditional lawns. Free. Fair exhibitors wanted: Aug. 7 to 16 at the Clark County Fair, 17402 N.E. Delfel Road, Ridgefield. Amateur home gardeners are invited to exhibit in the floriculture show, with annuals, perennials, shrubs and tree cuttings, container gardens and a floral design competition; and in the Vegetable, Fruit and Special Crops show, with vegetables, fruits, berries and grains. Youth exhibitors welcome. No entry fee; cash premiums will be paid to winners. Volunteers will assist new exhibitors. WSU Master Gardener Advanced Education Conference: noon Sept. 16 through 12:30 p.m. Sept. 19, Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 W. Sixth St., Vancouver. There will be 32 seminars covering horticulture, environmental issues, food gardening and volunteer leadership skills, and the opportunity to go on one of three tours. $199 registration includes meals. WSU Extension Clark County Master Gardener Program: 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays, Aug. 26 through Nov. 18, in Vancouver. Participants agree to volunteer 50 hours the first year and 35 each year thereafter to maintain status. $245.
