The suspect in an attempted convenience store robbery Monday on Hayden Island has been identified and is receiving medical treatment.
Officers with the Portland Police Bureau were called to Plaid Pantry, 1465 N. Hayden Island Drive, at 1:33 a.m. Monday for a reported armed robbery. An employee told police that a man armed with a knife demanded money.
The man said he wanted to be shot by police and left the store without getting any money, the bureau said.
